One of the bills that causes concern among businesses is the amendments to the law on mass media. Askar Sydykov, Executive Director of the International Business Council, announced at a round table on Tuesday.
He noted such negative aspects in the document as an unreasonable extension of terms for registration and re-registration of mass media. Legal entities are now registered within three days. The draft law sets the deadline for consideration of an application for registration of mass media to be one month. There are also violations of constitutional norms.
«It is important that the document is not adopted in the form in which it is currently proposed. We, business, voice many of our aspirations and initiatives through the media. It is our pride that there is freedom of speech in our country. We need to preserve and improve this,» Askar Sydykov stressed.
It should be noted that the Presidential Executive Office came up with the initiative to rewrite the relevant for journalists law.
