Deputy Director of the Department of Medicines and Medical Products under the Ministry of Health was detained in Bishkek. Press center of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The security services established facts of illegal activities of officials of the department and a private company. It turned out that the officials illegally re-registered, certified and provided an opportunity to import low-quality medicines into the republic.
«In 2020, when conducting relevant laboratory tests at the Central Control and Analytical Laboratory of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, it was established that certain standards for the content of an imported drug exceed the corresponding limits, which can lead to a threat to health.
Despite this, officials of the department, in violation of the procedure for state registration of medicines for medical use by forging and replacing the necessary original documents, created conditions for the unhindered subsequent import of the low-quality drug into the country,» the statement says.
Pre-trial proceedings were initiated and searches were conducted at the company’s offices, financial documentation was confiscated, including «double-entry» bookkeeping, confirming the use of illegal marketing methods and unfair competition to promote their products through the system of cash payments to healthcare workers, which also indicates the facts of tax evasion.
As a result, deputy director of the department B.K. and head of department T.I. were placed in the detention center. The investigation continues.
