New projects of the Government of Switzerland will be launched in Osh city. Press service of the City Hall reported.
The Vice Mayor of the city Venera Ryskulova met with the Ambassador of Switzerland to the Kyrgyz Republic Olivier Bangerter.
The parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation and interaction within the framework of programs and projects planned for implementation.
Olivier Bangerter noted that, despite the global trend, there will be no reduction in funding of programs implemented by the Swiss Government in Kyrgyzstan.
The following projects are planned to be launched in the near future:
— Program to support the sphere of water use, conservation of water resources;
— Organizational work to improve the quality of work of state bodies and local government bodies;
— Program to address issues of a shortage of professional personnel in working specialties, improve the quality of young people’s knowledge through vocational education.
The Ambassador said that he had visited remote microdistricts and settlements of the city, got acquainted with the hostels located in Manas-Ata microdistrict.
From the beginning of 2023, it is planned to implement Araket project together with local authorities to provide assistance and support to residents of four remote new-built quarters on the outskirts of the city, including hostels in Manas-Ata microdistrict. Within the framework of small grants, financial support is provided for those infrastructure projects that will be offered by the local government bodies for these new-built quarters.
«Attention will also be paid to issues of assistance in resolving issues of registration of citizens living in these new-built quarters, teaching them crafts, and employment issues. The project is designed for four years, and its main approach is to leave no one without attention,» Olivier Bangerter said.
The parties agreed to develop and strengthen bilateral cooperation for the benefit of the residents of Osh city.
