Economy Ministry: Sugar prices are stable, oil and fuel are getting cheaper

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan told about the prices for socially significant goods.

According to the ministry, sugar prices are stable to date. On average in the republic, it is sold at 88.3 soms per kilogram. The wholesale selling price at Koshoi JSC plant is 79.2 soms. There are enough sugar reserves in the republic.

Prices for vegetable oil began to decline. If in early September a liter was sold at an average of 158 soms, in October its price is 155.4 soms. Large suppliers have a month’s supply of vegetable oil. Trading facilities sell goods without restrictions.

A decrease in prices in the fuel and lubricants market is registered. According to oil traders, there are sufficient reserves of fuel and lubricants in the country. Monitoring of the market situation and explanatory work with trade participants are carried out on a regular basis.

The cost of AI 92 gasoline on average in the Kyrgyz Republic as of October 5 was 61.6 soms, diesel fuel — 75.8 soms.

«Prices for socially important goods have stabilized. Over the past two months, the cost of food products such as sugar, vegetable oil and flour has been declining. This happened due to the zero VAT on imports, as well as the introduction of a ban on the export of socially significant goods. In addition, agreements have been signed with manufacturers, importers, retail chains for the sale of sugar, as well as with the Association of Flour Millers for the production and sale of flour,» the Ministry of Economy said.

The price of domestically produced coal in the republic is 5,241.7 soms per ton and imported — 6,125 soms. There are points of sale of fuel throughout the republic, where coal is directly sold to the population.
