As part of an emergency COVID-19 pandemic project, 18 hospitals in Kyrgyzstan have received medical equipment. Press center of the Ministry of Health reported.
According to it, in June 2020, an agreement was signed between the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic on providing assistance to strengthen the public healthcare system and mitigate the consequences of the COVID-19 outbreak in the country. A number of hospitals were repaired and equipped with the necessary medical equipment — ultrasound machines, blood gas and electrolyte analyzers, defibrillators, air compressors for invasive mechanical ventilation devices, and the capacity of medical personnel was also increased.
At least 17 items of laboratory consumables were purchased for the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance.
