A former police officer who was fired from service a year ago for drug addiction opened fire at a daycare center in Nong Bua Lamphu province in northeastern Thailand. At least 36 people were killed. RIA Novosti reports.
Previously, 32 victims were reported — 24 children and 8 adults.
The police first found the pickup truck belonging to the man on the parking lot at his house. The security forces surrounded the building, believing that the shooter was inside, and tried to start negotiations, but no one responded.
Based on this, they assumed that the perpetrator fled in another vehicle or left on foot, but after a while, members of the task force entered the house. They found the body of the police officer, his wife and a child with bullet wounds. Weapon was also found at the scene.
