Situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border is characterized as stable. The Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) reported.
Earlier, information was published on Ozodi.org website that a local resident was wounded as a result of the explosion of a mortar shell fired by Kyrgyz military personnel. The Border Service said that this was not true. Moreover, the information was not confirmed by the border representatives of Tajikistan in Isfara area and representatives of other competent authorities.
As it turned out, the citizen of Tajikistan was blown up by a trip wire installed by Tajik servicemen near the border.
«The Kyrgyz side strictly adheres to the bilateral agreements reached, enshrined in both international agreements and protocol No. 42 of the meeting of the delegations of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to stabilize the situation in the border areas of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan. We draw the attention of the competent and law enforcement agencies of Tajikistan to the media that disseminate deliberately false information that contributes to inciting interethnic conflict and provocations on the jointly guarded border,» the statement says.
The Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic called on the media of Tajikistan not to mislead the society and residents of the border areas of the two countries by unfounded statements.
