The Foreign Affairs Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Malawi signed a Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two republics. Press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
According to it, the document was signed on the sidelines of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York. The parties have established diplomatic relations guided by the principles and purposes of the Charter of the United Nations and international law.
The Republic of Malawi is located in East Africa and borders on Mozambique, Tanzania, and Zambia. Its area is 118,500 square kilometers, and the population is about 18 million people.
Malawi has become the 168th state out of 193 UN member states with which Kyrgyzstan has established diplomatic relations over the years of independence.
This year, Kyrgyzstan, together with 58 partner countries, is celebrating an anniversary date — the 30th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations. To date, the republic is a member of 124 international organizations.
