The military aggression against Kyrgyzstan was led by the Tajik General Shokh Iskandarov. Investigators of PolitKlinika media portal came to this conclusion after studying videos posted by Tajik militants on social media.
One of the videos, filmed near Dostuk post in Batken region, shows about 20 armed militants walking towards a wrecked tank. They speak Tajik. It is clear from their conversation that Shokh Iskandarov is among them. It is noted that these Tajik soldiers and the General himself can be seen in other videos.
PolitKlinika showed in its previous materials how the military gathered civilians at the stadium in Bustan, and Shokh Iskandarov heads the city’s police.
It should be noted that the participation of Shokh Iskandarov in the military aggression of Tajikistan against Kyrgyzstan was confirmed in May 2021. According to open data, the General leads a detachment of 30 militants who have undergone special training.
In 2014, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan was forced to send a note to Tajikistan in connection with a message about the arrival of a detachment of General Shokh Iskandarov in Vorukh.
Journalists noted that the video materials prove that the person holding the official position, in the company of armed militants, invaded the territory of Kyrgyzstan. Thus, Tajikistan violates the fundamental principles of the UN Charter by attacking civilians and destroying civilian objects, and therefore should be held responsible for the military aggression against the Kyrgyz Republic.
Emergency situation has been introduced in Batken region. Shooting began at several sites of the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on the morning of September 16. Settlements in Leilek and Batken district came under fire. The Ministry of Health reported 183 victims, 59 people were killed. As a result of the armed conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, residents of seven villages in Batken and Leilek districts, as well as Dzhekendi village in Chon-Alai district of Osh region, left their homes.
The Prosecutor General’s Office of Kyrgyzstan opened a criminal case on crimes against peace.
