Sadyr Japarov leaves for Uzbekistan to attend SCO summit

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov left for Samarkand (Uzbekistan) to attend a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). Press service of the head of state reported.

Sadyr Japarov will also hold a number of high-level bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit.

Official delegation of Kyrgyzstan includes:

  • Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeenbek Kulubaev;
  • Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Muratbek Azymbakiev;
  • Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Uzbekistan Musa Dzhamanbaev;
  • Minister of Transport and Communications Erkinbek Osoev;
  • Minister of Economy and Commerce Daniyar Amangeldiev.

SCO summit will be held under the chairmanship of Uzbekistan. Earlier it was reported that the procedure for Belarus’ accession to the SCO will be launched at the meeting. It is planned to sign a memorandum of obligations for Iran to obtain the status of a SCO member state. Memorandums have been prepared to formalize the status of dialogue partners for Egypt, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, and the process of granting dialogue partnership to Bahrain, the Maldives and a number of other countries will also begin. The authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic also stated that the project on the construction of China — Kyrgyzstan — Uzbekistan railway will be launched at the summit.
