A fourth-grader was raped by her stepfather for a year in Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan. Director of the center for assistance to children at Tyup rural administration, psychologist Nazgul Osmonova, told 24.kg news agency.
According to her, the fact of sexual abuse of the child became known in May, the girl is undergoing rehabilitation.
«The girl visited our center. She stopped coming in May. When I asked her mother, she replied that she sent her daughter to Tokmok city to her sister. Later it turned out that the girl burst into tears and told about the violence by her stepfather to her aunt when she wanted to send her back to Tyup. The child said he didn’t want to go home. The girl is withdrawn into herself. She was exhausted and showed no emotion. She suffered a lot psychologically and physically,» Nazgul Osmonova told.
The director of the center noted that the mother worked at the labor exchange.
«The man raped the girl when her mother left for work and threatened to kill her if she told anyone. After the proceedings began, the victim could no longer live in the area. Everyone was pointing fingers at her. In addition, the 16-year-old aggressive son of his stepfather threatened the girl and her mother that he would kill them. We found an apartment for them in another place. I want to say that even if such stories become public, the victims do not get proper protection,» Nazgul Osmonova said.
The man is in custody. The investigation is conducted by the Department of Internal Affairs of Tyup district.
Nazgul Osmonova noted that the relevant services intend to consider the responsibility of the mother at the end of the trial.
