Imams to hold sermons against violence during Friday prayers

Sermons on morality and the inadmissibility of violence will be held in all mosques in Kyrgyzstan. Azattyk reports, citing the press service of the Spiritual Directorate of the Muslims of Kyrgyzstan (SDMK).

The idea was initiated by a Mufti Zamir Rakiev. Prayers will be held until September 12.

The reason is a scandalous incident in Kadamdzhai district, where three men raped and killed a schoolgirl.

«We express our deep condolences to the parents and relatives of the murdered girl in Kadamdzhai district. The sermons will be held in order to convey the inadmissibility of attacks on human life, prevention of violence against adolescents, women, and the sin of adultery,» SDMK noted.

Three men are suspected of raping and murdering a schoolgirl in Kadamdzhai district. Her body was found in a tunnel near Noogardan village, local residents reported the incident to the police. Traces of violent death were found on the girl’s body — she was strangled, her hands were tied. President Sadyr Japarov took control of the case.
