Navigation seals: Kyrgyzstan prepares for pilot project with Kazakhstan

The Association of International Road Carriers of Kyrgyzstan is preparing for a pilot project on the use of navigation seals with Kazakhstan. The head of the Customs Service Samat Isabekov announced at a meeting of the Committee on Budget, Economic and Fiscal Policy.

The deputies considered the ratification of the agreement on the use of navigation seals in the Eurasian Economic Union. Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce, Veronika Isaeva, told that the Association of International Road Carriers of the Kyrgyz Republic was chosen as the national operator of the system for tracking the transportation of goods using navigation seals by the order of the Cabinet of Ministers dated June 1, 2021.

At the first stage, seals will be applied to sanctioned goods, alcohol and tobacco products.

MP Dastan Bekeshev supported the idea, as it allows tracking the movement of goods without unnecessary bureaucracy. But he doubted that domestic companies would have access to process of production and use of navigation seals. However, the head of the Customs Service denied this.

«They are already working, conducting a pilot project. The company is integrating into the EAEU system. They want to conduct a pilot project with Kazakh colleagues. They say they are ready, but they still have time,» Samat Isabekov told.

Following the consideration of the issue, the deputies supported the ratification of the agreement.
