Kyrgyzstan is promoting the initiative to impose sanctions in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) for discrimination of the rights of the Union countries by creating barriers. The Minister of Economy and Commerce Daniyar Amangeldiev announced this live.
«Sanctions must be applied. Now no one is responsible for the emergence of barriers and there are no mechanisms for responding to violations of the rules of the market. The head of the Cabinet expressed the opinion that the instruments of responsibility and penalties should be applied, if barriers are detected and guilt in their creation is proven,» he said.
The minister noted that otherwise the Union would lose its value.
«Countries should not have discrimination against each other. The issue is acute, and this is already a progress,» Daniyar Amangeldiev concluded.
The head of the Cabinet of Ministers, Akylbek Japarov, at a meeting with colleagues from the EAEU member countries, said that there was a need to develop and implement measures of responsibility for violation of the rules of the market.
He suggested entrusting the Eurasian Economic Commission with the competence to remove barriers within the Union, assigning such powers to it.
The meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council was held on August 25-26 in Cholpon-Ata. As a result of the talks, nine documents were signed. The next meeting will be held on October 20-21, 2022 in Armenia.
