«We discussed the most pressing topic of today’s realities — development of the use of national currencies in mutual trade,» Akylbek Japarov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, said at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in an expanded format.
He told that the Prime Ministers of the EAEU discussed in detail the key areas for the development of settlements in national currencies, as well as indicators of their achievement. They determined the necessary recommendations on the issues of ensuring mutual acceptance of national payment cards of the EAEU member states, development of settlements using correspondent accounts. It is planned to consistently increase the share of national currencies in mutual settlements, unhindered transfer of financial information between the EAEU member states, and develop exchange trading in currency pairs of national currencies of the member states of the organization.
«I am sure that implementation of these recommendations will have a positive effect in increasing the stability of national economies and the macroeconomic stability of our integration,» said Akylbek Japarov.
Russia has submitted for discussion by the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council the issue of expanding the use of national currencies of the EAEU countries in trade settlements. Economic Development Minister Maksim Reshetnikov will make a report on this issue.
