New managers have been appointed at Kumtor Gold CJSC. Press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The official statement of the Cabinet of Ministers notes that big changes have taken place in the activities of Kumtor mine. Due to the fact that the facility has completely become the property of Kyrgyzstan, a corresponding inspection was carried out in May 2022.
As a result, financial violations were detected at the mine, in particular, fuels and lubricants, food, spare parts were purchased at prices above market ones.
In this regard, Tengiz Bolturuk, who previously headed Kumtor, and financial director Ryspek Toktogulov, were removed from their posts.
Tengiz Bolturuk remains the head of Heritage of Great Nomads National Holding.
The Prosecutor General’s Office, in the exercise of general control, began an inspection with the involvement of employees of the State Committee for National Security, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Accounts Chamber. Accurate information will be provided to the public based on the results of the audit.
«To date, there are no problems with gold production at the mine. The annual plan will be fulfilled. At least 17.5 tons of gold will be mined this year,» the Cabinet of Ministers assured.
