Year of the Woman in Chess: Five Kyrgyz women awarded

Five representatives of the chess school of Kyrgyzstan received the Year of the Woman in Chess awards, which are awarded to outstanding women by the International Chess Federation (FIDE).

According to the Kyrgyz Chess Union, the awarding ceremony took place in Chennai (India) as part of the 44th Chess Olympiad.

The awards were presented to a coach Baktygul Tilenbaeva (Outstanding chess trainer), educator Roza Vendrova (Outstanding chess educator), photographer Shakhnazi Musayeva (Outstanding photographer), a chess player Dariya Kudainazarova (Woman with disability for outstanding fighting spirit) and an administrator Medina Zhumashova (Outstanding chess administrator).

The Chess Olympiad is the largest sporting event after the Olympic Games, held every two years. More than 2,000 chess players from 188 countries of the world are participating in it this year.
