ARIS presents project on water supply of 101 villages in Kyrgyzstan to investors

At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan with the Arab Coordination Group, investors were presented with a project on the supply of 355,000 residents of Jalal-Abad region with water. Press service of the Community Development and Investment Agency (ARIS) reported.

According to it, ARIS Director Mars Naspekov told about the possibilities for providing 101 villages of Jalal-Abad region, as well as Kara-Balta and Sulukta, with clean drinking water.

«We already have a positive experience in implementation of projects with the Islamic Development Bank and the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development. So, from 2017 to 2022, the project on improvement of rural water supply and sanitation, which is being implemented by ARIS with the support of the Cabinet of Ministers, has already provided 25 villages in Jalal-Abad region with drinking water,» Mars Naspekov said.

Water supply projects have a broad coverage. They include work to connect social facilities to the water supply system and creation of cost-effective municipal enterprises. The project also provides for a set of measures to prevent negative impacts on the environment.

Implementation of the water supply project for 101 villages in Jalal-Abad region, as well as Kara-Balta and Sulukta, will begin only if approved by the Arab Coordination Group.

The Arab Coordination Group includes the Islamic Development Bank, the Saudi Fund for Development, the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, the OPEC Fund for International Development, the Qatar Fund for Development, the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development and others.
