EAEU continues to improve technical regulations

The Advisory Committee on Technical Regulation, Application of Sanitary, Veterinary and Phytosanitary Measures considered a wide range of amendments to the technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and their standards. The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) reported.

Changes in the technical regulations for food additives, flavors and technological aids have been approved. The lists of standards for technical regulations for poultry meat and toys have been updated. In the future, these documents will be considered at a meeting of the EEC Board.

Committee members also approved changes to the programs for the development of standards for technical regulations for toys, perfumes and cosmetics.

It was decided to send the draft technical regulation for nicotine-containing products for public discussion.

A number of topical issues in the field of application of sanitary, veterinary and phytosanitary measures were considered. In particular, amendments to Chapter 44 of the Uniform Veterinary Requirements for goods subject to veterinary control and the form of a veterinary certificate for non-food raw materials of animal origin exported to the EAEU intended for the production of feed for non-productive domestic animals and fur animals were approved for consideration at the meeting of the EEC Board. The amendments set veterinary requirements for non-edible fish raw materials.
