In accordance with the agreement reached, a regular meeting of the topographic working groups of the government delegations of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on the delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border was held in Dushanbe from June 21 to June 26, 2022. A corresponding protocol was signed based on the results of the meeting. The parties agreed to hold the next meeting on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The meeting was reportedly held in the spirit of friendship and mutual understanding.
Earlier, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan agreed to demarcate a project border line between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan at the sections from the border point No. 43 to the border point No. 61 and from the border point No. 135 to the border point No. 141.
It was also reported that Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan have demarcated 40 more kilometers of the border.
