The President of Kyrgyzstan received the Chairman of the World Ethnosport Confederation Bilal Erdogan. Press service of the head of state reported.
The parties discussed preparations for the IV World Nomad Games in the Turkish Iznik town, Bursa province, as well as the development of the World Nomad Games in the near future and activities planned under the initiative.
Sadyr Japarov noted the readiness of the Kyrgyz side to assist in organizing and holding the large-scale international event.
In turn, Bilal Erdogan said that the Confederation was created precisely thanks to the holding of the World Nomad Games in Kyrgyzstan, and told about the work carried out by the organizing committee. He said that Iznik town was chosen as the venue for the Nomad Games not by chance. Firstly, the town is located on the shore of a lake, reminiscent of Issyk-Kul; secondly, there is a memorial to the Kyrgyz soldiers who were killed in the battles for the capture of this town at the beginning of the second millennium AD on its territory.
Earlier, the World Nomad Games were planned to be held in Bursa city. But in the fall of 2020, they were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic and later moved to Iznik.
