Kyrgyzstan plans to grow 665,000 tons of wheat this year

Dzhanybekov said today at a briefing.

«The republic needs 765,000-769,000 tons of wheat per year for food security. We plan to grow about 665,000 tons this year,» he said.

According to the minister, the growing areas of not only grains, but also potatoes, as well as oilseeds, significantly increased.

At least 1,534.4 billion soms were allocated from the republican budget to provide farmers with highly productive seeds of agricultural crops for variety change and renewal.

These funds were used to purchase seeds of grain and cereal crops, oilseeds and legumes, sainfoin and cotton. The State Material Reserves Fund was entrusted with their delivery from Russia.
