The Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of Kyrgyzstan is checking the fact of mass death of argali in the mountains of Dzheti-Oguz district of Issyk-Kul region. Press service of the ministry informed 24.kg news agency.
«Our specialists visited the place where the dead animals were found. State inspectors will conduct an inspection, the results of which we will report later,» the ministry informed.
Information about a large number of dead argali (more than 20 animals), found by shepherds in the mountainous areas of Koendu, Emegen and Uzongu-Kuush, appeared earlier. It was suggested that the animals could die due to a sharp cold snap.
