Kurmanbek Dyikanbaev, the former plenipotentiary representative of the president in Parliament, was acquitted. The Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek confirmed the information to 24.kg news agency.
Earlier, Kurmanbek Dyikanbaev entered into a plea bargain and transferred 7 million soms to the account of the State Committee for National Security. The former official was acquitted due to the absence of crime in his acts.
On November 24, 2020, Kurmanbek Dyikanbaev was detained on suspicion of committing a crime under Article 320 «Abuse of official position» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The investigation found out that during the election campaign in October 2020, he, acting in the interests of one of the political parties, forced the head of one of the state-owned enterprises of strategic importance to transfer funds to him in the amount of more than 7 million soms under the threat of dismissal from his position in case of refusal.
