Ex-Chairman of Border Service of Kyrgyzstan Zamir Moldoshev passes away

The former chairman of the Border Service, Major General Zamir Moldoshev, died suddenly at the age of 69. The Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan reported.

Zamir Moldoshev passed away today.

He was born on September 25, 1953 in the village of Oktyabrsky, Suzak district of Osh (now Jalal-Abad) region.

He began his military career in 1971, enrolling in the Samarkand Higher Military Tank School. In 1986, Zamir Moldoshev graduated from the Military Academy of Armored Forces, in 2000 — from the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces.

Zamir Moldoshev took different command positions from platoon commander to the Chairman of the Border Service.

«He was one of the founders of the peacekeeping battalion, which served on the Tajik-Afghan state border. During the Batken events in 1999-2000, Zamir Moldoshev was awarded the Erdik medal for his personal courage and skillful leadership,» the Border Service said.
