Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) Kamchybek Tashiev left for the scene of conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border in Batken region. The Cabinet of Ministers informed 24.kg news agency.
He will visit the epicenter of the incident and hold talks with Tajik colleagues. Resuscitation ambulances were also sent to Batken to transport two wounded servicemen.
Shooting on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border took place on Friday at about noon in Bulak-Bashy area of Batken region. Border detachment of Kyrgyzstan discovered the military of the neighboring republic. They illegally crossed the conventional border line and entered the territory of Kyrgyzstan. Ignoring the demands to leave the territory, the Tajik border guards opened fire at the Kyrgyz servicemen. Border detachments of the two countries exchanged fire, during which the Tajik side used mortars.
