It’s time to get the third dose of vaccine for those who were vaccinated in 2021. The Republican Headquarters for the fight against coronavirus reminded on Telegram.
According to studies, protection from hospitalization and death provided by the initial course of vaccination remains fairly high in most people for six months.
«But it’s worth knowing that the degree of protection varies depending on the type of vaccine, age group and local environment, including circulating variants of the virus. Therefore, immunologists and epidemiologists recommend getting a booster dose of the vaccine after four to six months from the date of the second dose,» the headquarters added.
To date, according to the Republican Center for Immunoprophylaxis, Pfizer (USA) and Sinopharm (China) vaccines are available for vaccination against COVID-19 in Kyrgyzstan.
Citizens can get the initial vaccination course as well as a booster dose at Family Medicine Centers.
The last case of coronavirus was registered in Kyrgyzstan one month ago — on May 1.
