How Russia's withdrawal from Bologna Process to affect education in KRSU

Russia will withdraw from the Bologna Process. The Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov told Russian media.

It is abandoning the accepted two-level system of training in higher education institutions (four years of undergraduate and two years of master’s degree) and return to a specialist study (five to six years of study). The ministry will prepare a new list of specialties by 2024.

The Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU) is located in Kyrgyzstan. The university reported that the issue of the withdrawal of the Russian Federation from the Bologna Process is not yet being considered.

«All changes to the educational program can be made by decision and agreement of the founders. The founders do not discuss any changes,» the press service of the KRSU specified.

The founders of the university are the Governments of Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
