Prosecutor General of Kyrgyzstan Kurmankul Zulushev held a working meeting with the head of the supervisory body of Tajikistan Yusuf Rahmon in Batken. Press service of the supervisory body says.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of protecting the rights and interests of citizens.
«The heads of the supervisory authorities of the two countries discussed issues of transfer of convicts to their homeland for further serving their sentences, as well as prevention of border conflicts. The parties agreed to strengthen interdepartmental cooperation, establish direct working contacts between the prosecutors of the border districts and regions of the two states within the framework of existing multilateral and bilateral agreements,» the supervisory body noted.
Earlier, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that 13 citizens of Kyrgyzstan were detained in the Republic of Tajikistan on charges of illegal border crossing, two of them were sentenced to life in prison.
