Investors from Kazakhstan to build solar power plant in Issyk-Kul region

It is planned to build a solar power plant in Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan with the participation of Kazakh capital. President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced at a briefing in Bishkek.

The President of Kazakhstan noted that the state would continue to protect the interests of foreign investors, which would have a positive impact on the investments of Kazakh companies in Kyrgyzstan.

«It is planned to build a solar power plant in Issyk-Kul region with the participation of Kazakh capital. The cost of the project will be $300 million,» he said.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced opening of a branch of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Bishkek. «In addition, we have allocated grants for young scientists to support their scientific research. I proposed to hold an annual forum of the intelligentsia of the two countries in order to strengthen cultural and humanitarian ties,» he said.

The leader of the Republic of Kazakhstan said that he ordered to erect monuments to the writer Chingiz Aitmatov and the Kyrgyz batyr Manas in Nur-Sultan. He thanked Sadyr Japarov and the people of Kyrgyzstan for the monument to the Kazakh poet Abai Kunanbayev in Bishkek, which will be unveiled today.

The President of Kazakhstan arrived in Bishkek on an official visit today. The meeting of the heads of state took place at Ala-Archa-1 state residence.

At least 14 bilateral documents were signed within the official visit of the leader of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Kyrgyzstan.
