When launching a new automotive manufacturing plant, Kyrgyzstan can conduct a conformity assessment of the vehicles in a simplified form. The decision was made by members of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission, amending the technical regulation on the safety of wheeled vehicles.
This opportunity was provided by the technical regulations earlier for those states that are parties to the Geneva Agreement on the Establishment of Uniform Requirements for Vehicles. The norm is introduced so that a manufacturer does not postpone the start of production and has the opportunity to simultaneously carry out the certification work necessary for the serial production of products.
«But Kyrgyzstan is the only country in the EAEU that is not yet a member of the Geneva Agreement. The accession procedure is currently underway, so the EEC Council has made an amendment on the possibility of applying a simplified conformity assessment procedure when starting a new production on the territory of a state that is not a member of the Geneva Agreement. This norm is valid until December 31, 2023,» the Eurasian Economic Commission said.
