Judge and deputy prosecutor detained in Dzhumgal

A judge and a deputy head of the district prosecutor were detained in Dzhumgal district of Kyrgyzstan. The supervisory authority informed 24.kg news agency.

The judge and the employee of the prosecutor’s office were caught red-handed while taking a bribe of 50,000 soms.

«According to preliminary data, the judge of Dzhumgal district, together with the deputy prosecutor, extorted money from a local resident for dismissal of the case against his relative in court. The latter was accused of embezzlement and misappropriation of entrusted property. The deputy district prosecutor was placed in the temporary detention center. The judge will be charged after receiving consent from the Council of Judges,» the supervisory body said.
