Members of the Committee of the Parliament on International Affairs, Defense, Security and Migration held a joint meeting with members of the Committee of the Parliament of Kazakhstan on International Affairs, Defense and Security. Press service of the Parliament reported.
The meeting took place in the village of Kordai, the deputies got acquainted with the activities of Ak-Zhol and Ak-Tilek checkpoints.
«The deputies discussed a wide range of issues: development of trade and economic cooperation, solution of transport and logistics problems within the framework of the EAEU, the procedure for carrying out inspection and control measures by Kazakhstan in relation to cargo shipped from Kyrgyzstan,» the press service of the Parliament said.
In April of this year, a large queue of trucks formed at Ak-Tilek checkpoint. Bishkek accused Kazakhstan of «failure to comply with the conditions of the EAEU in the course of cargo transportation.» At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Arzybek Kozhoshev and the Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Minister of Trade and Integration Bakhyt Sultanov met at Ak-Tilek checkpoint. After negotiations, the queue at the checkpoints reduced.
However, Kazakhstan announced that it intends to tighten control over the passage of trucks at the border with Kyrgyzstan in May.
