Former OTRK head Ilim Karypbekov became the first Kyrgyz man to conquer Lobuche peak in Nepal. President of the Mountaineering and Climbing Federation of Kyrgyzstan Eduard Kubatov posted on Facebook.
The peak is at an altitude of 6,163 meters.
«It is a difficult summit, almost 850 meters of jumaring. Out of 45 people, Ilim Karypbekov and another strong climber climbed to the top. If you have courage and perseverance in your heart, you will always have a place at the summit. Ilim proved it,» Eduard Kubatov wrote.
Ilim Karypbekov dedicated his ascent to the Victory Day.
Earlier it was reported that climbers from Kyrgyzstan will conduct an expedition to the top of Manaslu in the Himalayas. Ilim Karypbekov is a member of the team of nine. The climbers began to prepare for the ascent in Nepal.
