The President of Kyrgyzstan received the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov, who arrived in Bishkek to attend the 10th meeting of the Kyrgyz-Kazakh Intergovernmental Council.
Sadyr Japarov noted that the Kyrgyz Republic considers the brotherhood of the peoples, their historical, cultural and spiritual community as a key factor in the development of bilateral relations.
«We highly appreciate the Kyrgyz-Kazakh relations based on the ties of friendship, mutual trust and respect. The dynamics of our bilateral cooperation is at a very high level, and we aim to make every effort to further build it up,» he said.
According to him, the expected official visit of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Kyrgyzstan on May 26 will give a new impetus to the Kyrgyz-Kazakh multifaceted cooperation.
Alikhan Smailov conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Sadyr Japarov.
He noted that Kyrgyzstan is one of the main political and economic partners of Kazakhstan.
«This year marks 30 years since the establishment of our diplomatic relations. Your last year visit to Kazakhstan contributed to the development of bilateral cooperation,» Alikhan Smailov said, telling about the successful holding of the 10th meeting of the Intergovernmental Council.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the further expansion and deepening of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan in trade, economic, water, energy, cultural, humanitarian and other areas of mutual interest.
