Investigator of Interior Ministry suspected of extortion of $4,000

A senior investigator of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was detained. Press center of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan reported.

According to it, the police major was detained while taking a bribe of 200,000 soms. It was found out that the investigator extorted $4,000 through an intermediary for termination of the prosecution within a criminal case under investigation.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 343 «Extortion» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The senior investigator and the intermediary were detained and placed in the temporary detention center of the State Committee for National Security.
