Air traffic between Kyrgyzstan and South Korea to resume on April 28

Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to South Korea Aida Ismailova held talks with the delegation of T’Way Air airline, headed by the President of the companyJeong Hong-Geun. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

The sides discussed the possibility of opening a direct flight Bishkek — Incheon — Bishkek.

The Ambassador thanked the South Korean airline for its assistance in transporting citizens of both countries and delivering humanitarian aid during the pandemic. She drew the attention to the fact that citizens of both countries are interested in opening direct flights and that this issue is raised at all levels.

In turn, Jeong Hong-Geun said that the company has received permission to operate direct flights between Incheon and Bishkek in February 2020, but due to the closure of borders because of the pandemic, regular flights were postponed.

The president of the company noted that the airline is interested in organizing charter flights before the opening of regular flights. The next one is scheduled for April 28.

The parties also agreed that the opening of direct flights between Kyrgyzstan and South Korea will give impetus to the expansion of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
