Teachers' salaries increased by 80 percent for the first time in Kyrgyzstan

Teachers’ salaries were increased by 80 percent for the first time in Kyrgyzstan. Gulnar Toktakhunova, acting head of the Department of Fiscal Policy and Financial Analysis of the Ministry of Education and Science, told today at a press conference.

According to her, salaries of the administrative staff were increased by 50 percent, while the salaries of the technical and junior staff — by 80 percent. «The entire staff of the education system will receive increased salaries on April 30. Calculations have already been made, we are preparing to transfer money to bank cards. The last increase was in 2015 and in 2019, but only by 30 percent,» Gulnar Toktakhunova said.

She noted that the payment model was changed. «Previously, the state paid for an hour of work, for example, a master received 97 soms per hour, and now the rate system was introduced. A living wage — 7,040 soms — was taken as a basis,» she added.

Salaries of state employees were increased from April 1, 2022 in Kyrgyzstan.
