Salaries of huntsmen, hunting specialists proposed to be increased by 50 percent

Deputies considered draft amendments to the law on Hunting and Hunting Industry at a meeting of the Committee on Agrarian Policy, Water Resources, Ecology and Regional Development of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan.

One of the initiators of the amendments, deputy Zhalolidin Nurbaev, noted that their goal is to preserve the fauna and stop the illegal actions of poachers. The document says that the fauna of Kyrgyzstan is diverse and includes more than 500 species of vertebrates, about 50 species of fish, 4 species of amphibians, 28 reptiles, about 350 birds and 86 mammals.

The initiators of the bill propose to increase the wages of huntsmen and hunting specialists by 30-50 percent. They believe that this will become an incentive for their effective work and will provide an opportunity to preserve the flora and fauna of the republic.

Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision Kubat Kaseyinov noted that after the increase, the average salary of huntsmen and hunting specialists will be 15,000 soms.
