Former president of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev was transferred to prison colony No. 27. Kanat Sagymbaev, ex-employee of the Ninth Service of the State Committee for National Security, wrote about it on his Facebook page.
Earlier, the accused himself announced transfer from prison colony No. 47 to another colony. According to him, he asked to be transferred to prison colony No. 8.
The press service of the Penitentiary Service has not yet commented on the transfer of the former head of state to another institution.
Several criminal cases have been initiated against Almazbek Atambayev, including riots in Koi-Tash village on August 7-8, 2019, corruption and money laundering. Last summer, he was charged with illegal issue of passports to Turkish citizens, as well as organizing mass riots in October 2020.
