The White House gift shop has put up for sale a series of coins depicting the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The announcement is posted on the website of the shop.
The retail cost of one coin is $100. Obverse side of the coin depicts Volodymyr Zelensky, the reverse shows a map of the territory of Ukraine with the Russian Crimea, the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics in its composition.
As the announcement says, issue of the coin is associated with a special military operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine. All proceeds from the sale will be transferred to the American branch of the International Committee of the Red Cross for humanitarian assistance to Kyiv.
Situation in Ukraine remains complicated. Fighting continues. Russia announced a special military operation on February 24, 2022. The number of military and civilian casualties continues to grow. Many states have imposed and continue to impose severe sanctions against Russia. According to the latest UN data, more than 4.5 million citizens have left Ukraine.
