Former minister of culture of Kyrgyzstan Sultan Raev has been elected a Secretary General of TURKSOY. Facebook page of the ministry says.
His candidacy was unanimously supported by the Council of Ministers of Culture of the Turkic-speaking countries. The event was held in the city of Bursa (Turkey).
Sultan Raev is a theater director. In 1996, he staged the first play «Kashar» at the Naryn Regional Drama Theater based on his absurdist play, like Ionesco’s. He staged performances in Osh, staged «Lament of the Alai Queen» in the Bishkek Tunguch Theater.
He is an author of the story «The Hunt for the Sun» (Kun Karmagan Bala), plays, including «Barsbek» and is finishing the novel «The Last Prophet» (2005).
Sultan Raev is a laureate of the state prize named after Toktogul in the field of literature, art and architecture in 2006 for the play «Khanyshanyn koz zhashy» (2007).
