South Korea increases quota for employment of Kyrgyzstanis

The Republic of Korea has increased the number of quota places for citizens of Kyrgyzstan. Kubandyk Akmatbekov, Director of the Center for Employment of Citizens Abroad under the Ministry of Labor, announced at a press conference in Bishkek.

According to him, the quota was increased within the memorandum concluded in 2007. More than 5,000 citizens have left for Korea over the past 15 years under this program.

«Previously, the number of quota places did not reach 1,000. Their number is 1,800 this year. Documents for knowledge of the Korean language for further employment of citizens will be accepted on April 12 −13 in Bishkek and on April 14-15 in Osh. Citizens who pass the tests and receive threshold scores will take the second test to assess additional skills, which consists of three tests: physical fitness, logical thinking ability and interview,» Akmatbekov told.

It’s noted that citizens who fit the following criteria can participate in the program:

  • From 18 to 39 years old;
  • Without history of stay in the Republic of Korea with E-9 and E-10 visas in total for more than 5 years;
  • Not suffering from color blindness;
  • Who successfully passed medical examination;
  • Not previously deported from Korea;
  • Not having criminal record.
