During opening ceremony of the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing, the President Sadyr Japarov spoke with his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon. The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov told at a press conference.
According to him, the heads of state agreed to resolve the border issue without the intervention of a third party.
«The border issue will be resolved when the two neighbors come to an agreement. During the trip, Sadyr Japarov and Emomali Rahmon instructed the ministers to resume negotiations on the delimitation and demarcation of the border. Prior to this, the commission suspended work. But it’s been working hard for a week now. The parties decided that they could regulate the issue without a third party,» Akylbek Japarov told.
