New Chief Physician appointed at Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship Hospital

A new Chief Physician from the Turkish side has been appointed at the Bishkek State Hospital of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship. Press center of the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan reported.

The Minister of Health Alymkadyr Beishenaliev introduced the new Chief Physician Mete Hıdıroğlu, appointed by the Turkish side, to the staff on Tuesday.

The minister noted that this hospital is of great importance in the practical training of personnel for the country’s healthcare system. According to him, after mastering innovative skills and gaining sufficient experience, local medical workers, who practiced in this hospital, will be sent to other healthcare organizations in the country to strengthen the human resources potential and improve the level of medical care provided to the population.

The Ministry of Health recalled that the previous chief physician Özgür Çelebi returned to Turkey, as his term in office has ended.

«On February 1, 2022, the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan appointed a new Deputy Chief Physician Osmonali Masaliev,» the ministry noted.

The Ministry of Health reminded that, according to the terms of the ratified intergovernmental agreement dated September 1, 2018, the Chief Physician of the Bishkek State Hospital of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship is appointed by the Ministry of Health of Turkey, and his deputy is appointed by the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship Hospital began admitting patients on August 26. Thirty doctors and technicians arrived from Turkey. There are a total of 72 beds in the hospital, 21 of which are in intensive care unit. There is an angiograph, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, mammography, X-ray, ultrasound, gastroscope, echocardiograph and many other diagnostic devices.

The list and cost of medical services provided by the hospital has been developed and approved by the antimonopoly committee. Foreigners will have access to paid medical services in accordance with a separate price list.

Construction of the clinic at the expense of a grant from Turkey began in June 2016 and was completed in November 2017. During the peak of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, it was temporarily opened to receive and treat patients infected with COVID-19.
