Criminal case against a parliamentary deputy Akbokon Tashtanbekov was brought to court. Lawyer Akin Avazbekov told 24.kg news agency.
According to him, the Sverdlovsky District Court of Bishkek will consider the merits of the case.
«On December 31, 2021, Akbokon Tashtanbekov received the mandate of a deputy and took the oath. Yesterday, his measure of restraint was changed to house arrest. The investigation issued an indictment under the article «Incitement of ethnic hatred» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. However, there are no victims in the case,» Akin Avazbekov said.
A criminal case has been initiated against Akbokon Tashtanbekov. A video was posted on social media where he threatens a man of another nationality. Facebook users demanded to punish the candidate for the mandate for inciting ethnic hatred. The Central Election Commission agreed to prosecute him. He was placed in the temporary detention facility of the State Committee for National Security.
It is worth noting that the video was filmed several years ago. Supporters of Akbokon Tashtanbekov say that it was posted on social media now in order to provoke a campaign against the winner of the elections in the district.
