Akylbek Japarov: Authorities did not interfere in election for the first time

«We can say that for the first time in the history of the country, the Presidential Executive Office, the Cabinet of Ministers did not interfere in the election process,» the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Akylbek Japarov, told reporters.

Akylbek Japarov voted at the polling station 1142, located in Bishkek in the building of the secondary boarding school 71. After that, he appealed to his compatriots, urging them to fulfill their civic duty.

«We have the right to elect and be elected. I hope you will make a worthy choice and elect deputies who will protect your interests, promote economic growth, and write laws that will increase your pensions and salaries. I count on your responsible, balanced, patriotic civic position,» he said.

At the same time, answering journalists’ questions, the official said that he did not see much difference in the programs of the parties.

«Everyone wants happiness, but there are very few solutions to how to achieve this happiness. Let’s hope that this parliament will be able, in the course of its work, to make the parties stand on their feet, work on programs and concrete action plans. I can say that, unfortunately, I chose not the best of the best from all the programs, but from what we have. Nevertheless, this is our country, our parties. I want to wish everyone success,» the Chairman of the Cabinet said.

In addition, Akylbek Japarov said that he was ready to work with all the deputies.

Deputies of the seventh convocation of Parliament are elected in Kyrgyzstan today. The electoral system was changed in the country, so there will be 90 deputies instead of 120. As a result, 54 deputies of the Parliament will be elected according to the proportional system (open lists of candidates of political parties) in the single electoral district, 36 deputies — according to the majority system in single-mandate constituencies.
