Repeat elections: CEC to announce official results not later than on March 12

Official results of the repeat elections in Pervomaisky and Sverdlovsky constituencies of Bishkek will be announced not later than on March 12. The Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan (CEC) reported.

The results will be announced after all legal proceedings and complaints are settled, it said. If it is confirmed that Abdurakhmankhadzhi Murtazaliev, who won most of the votes in Sverdlovsky constituency, was involved in bribery, his registration will be cancelled.

As CEC said to 24.kg news agency, in this case, since there was a report of bribery and the investigation began before the election day, the mandate could be given to the next candidate who won most of the votes.

Shailoobek Atazov is the next with the highest number of votes in Sverdlovsky constituency.

Repeat elections were held in two single-mandate constituencies in Bishkek on February 27. Elvira Surabaldieva won 47.97 percent of the votes in Pervomaisky single-mandate constituency. Abdurakhmankhadzhi Murtazaliev won most of the votes in Sverdlovsky constituency (19.52 percent).
