The Eurasian Intergovernmental Council approved a roadmap for creation of favorable conditions for the development of electronic commerce within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) reports.

The action plan includes a basic package of measures aimed at developing an appropriate regulatory framework, ensuring barrier-free movement of goods within the union, monitoring and countering unfair business practices, as well as interaction with third countries, integration associations and international organizations.

«It is planned to develop a draft international treaty on electronic commerce, which provides for the consolidation of the basic rules regarding functioning of the single market, protection of the rights and interests of participants, restrictions on unfair practices, pre-trial settlement of disputes and ensuring the sustainability of infrastructure,» EEC Minister of Trade Andrei Slepnev said.

It also includes improvement of customs and technical regulation, solving the issue of levying indirect taxes, formation of a list of products prohibited for trade, digitalizing electronic document management, creation of a standard for the digital profile of goods, determining the conditions for establishing voluntary business associations in the field of e-commerce.
