627 foodservice outlets checked after food poisoning in Imperiya Pizzy

At least 627 foodservice outlets have been checked in Kyrgyzstan. Press center of the Ministry of Health reported.

The inspection was carried out by the Territorial Centers for Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance from October 26 to November 11. «At least 254 protocols were drawn up on revealed violations of sanitary and epidemiological norms and rules for responsible persons, managers, and decisions were made to impose fines in the total amount of 1,014,500 soms,» the ministry reported.

In addition, explanatory work and courses on the sanitary minimum were held for employees of 280 foodservice outlets. «This work will be continued,» the ministry added.

The Ministry of Health, together with the Ministry of Agriculture, issued a joint order on conducting inspections of facilities related to the production and circulation of food products. The Ministry of Health called on all representatives of business entities to strengthen internal control over the sanitary-hygienic and sanitary-technical condition of their facilities.

Mass food poisoning was registered in Imperiya Pizzy chain cafes. In total, according to the Ministry of Health, 318 people turned for medical assistance with food poisoning. All cafes of the chain were closed for the period of the epidemiological investigation. The cafes were fined 21,000 soms.

The Ministry of Health reported that in connection with the mass food poisoning in Bishkek, specialists from the Centers for State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance will inspect foodservice outlets throughout the republic.
